PROGRAM DETAILS
After we pick you up from your hotel, port or any other meeting point we will start our tour from the Piraeus area making you familiar with the longest port in the country.Then we will continue our tour exploring the Piraeus area with small stops for photos. Continuing along the coastline of the Athenian Riviera we will cross the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the Flisvos Marina, the Alimos Marina, the old Attica Airport, the fashionable area of Glyfada, the fashionable area of Voula with the first small stop at the Vouliagmeni Neck with its typically beautiful landscape.
Then follows also a short stop at the unique phenomenon of nature’s revelation the “Lake of Vouliagmeni”, which owes its name to subsidence of the soil, which is also attributed to the great depth of the lake. However, its spectacular rocks, its depth and its labyrinthine underwater cave are associated with legends, lending a mystical character to the landscape. You can return to the lake to explore its depths, respecting of course the prohibition signs, or indulge in the therapeutic properties of the hot thermal waters.
The final destination following the shoreline of the Athenian Reviera is the southernmost tip of the Attica Peninsula where Cape Sounion is located.If you are lucky, you may discover on this route a secluded beach for full privacy dives. Here the Ancient Athenians built the temple of Poseidon, god of the sea. In ancient times, the sight of the temple’s Doric columns marked a welcome for sailors eager to return to Athens. Look for the carved name of Lord Byron at the base of the columns, among other engraved names – both famous and not – of past visitors. Tour the site until sunset and you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet!!!!
